Subaru Levorg V1 2016-2021

In 2016, Subaru launched a station wagon variant of the newly designed WRX, branded as the “Levorg.” This marked a shift from earlier models, as the hatchback option was removed from the lineup. It can be inferred that the introduction of a wagon aimed to fill the void left by the discontinuation of the Liberty GT turbo model in 2014. Initially equipped with a FA20 turbo engine and a CVT automatic transmission, 2017 brought the addition of a 1.6L FB16 turbo variant, which also came solely with a CVT. Those seeking a manual option had to choose the WRX sedan. Beyond that, it essentially retains the WRX identity, boasting its rich heritage. With the launch of the V2 series in late 2021, Subaru decided to promote future Levorg models under the WRX badge.
