Subaru Impreza XV G3 2010-2011
In 2010, Subaru Australia introduced the off-road variant of the Impreza, known as the XV. This model is built on the foundation of the 2008-2011 Impreza, featuring similar attributes along with additional enhancements. Equipped with protective wheel arches and side sills, roof rails, and offering a ground clearance of 185mm, the Impreza XV serves as the smaller counterpart to the highly popular Outback. Initially marketed as the Impreza XV, the subsequent model would be assigned its own label, the G4X XV, omitting the Impreza name altogether.

Subaru XV G4X 2011-2017
The new XV model made its debut as a separate entity in late 2011, with the G4 code indicating its foundation on the 4th generation Impreza, while the “X” signifies that it is the XV variant. Alongside all the features of the 4th generation Impreza, the updated XV boasted enhanced ground clearance, rising from 185mm in the earlier version to 220mm. Additionally, roof rails and wheel arch stone protectors were included as standard features.

Subaru XV G5X 2017-2022
The 5th generation XV debuted in 2017, offering either a standard CVT or a Hybrid CVT option. Indeed, while the engine differs slightly, the Hybrid electric motor is integrated within the transmission. This is the end for the “XV” badge.
